(March 6, 2019) University of Miami’s Rosentiel’s School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences, and Director of Aquaculture Dr. Daniel Benetti, have delivered Tropic Seafood 1000 baby Olive Flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) to promote aquaculture in the Bahamas. These new fingerlings will allow Tropic Seafood, to continue their aquaculture research and determine if commercial aquaculture is feasible and practical in the Bahamas. Olive Flounder are commercially cultured in Korea and Japan and are sold as Hirame in sushi and sashimi restaurants.
