(March 5, 2019) At Tropic Seafood, we manage and control the quality of each and every Bahamian Lobster tail we sell.
We do this by utilizing a high speed, computer controlled, Morrell lobster tail grading-machine which accurately grades 90 tails a minute into 10 weight categories from 4 oz. to 20+ oz. tails. Each tail passes across a highly sensitive scale and is weighed nine times in a fraction of a second then averages those nine weights. The computer then decides which arm to extend to guide the lobster-tail off the fast moving conveyor and into specific bins full of the same grade tails. Our tails are transferred to a packing table where there are inspected, poly-bagged and packed in 10-pound net weight boxes.
