The 2022 lobster season came to a close on March 31, 2022. It took several weeks for the fishermen to return to port with the end of the season catch, meaning Tropic Seafood will have enough product to process well into the month of May. “I’m sure the fisherman will enjoy their downtime, although it will most likely be short-term,” stated Jon Chaiton, the Director of Quality Assurance. There is much to do to prepare for the upcoming season. Prices maintained a high level through the end of the season which is always good news for fishermen.
